چکیده
Sodium–glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) are a relatively new class of antidiabetic drugs that have shown favorable effects in heart failure (HF) patients, irrespective the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Recent studies demonstrated beneficial empagliflozin on cardiac function and structure; however, less is known about dapagliflozin. The purpose current work was to investigate association between use dapagliflozin biomarkers as well structure cohort patients with HF diabetes mellitus (DM). present an observational study included 118 (dapagliflozin group n = 60; control 58) DM. inclusion criteria included: age > 18 years, history DM HF, regardless LVEF, hospitalization for exacerbation within previous 6 months. exclusion were treatment SGLT2i or glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, GFR< 30 life expectancy < 1 year. evaluation (at baseline, 12 months) clinical assessment, laboratory blood tests echocardiography. Mann–Whitney test used comparison continuous variables two groups, while Friedman’s analysis variance repeated measures variables. Association between Diabetes Mellitus and Heart Failure
Heart failure is a major and growing public health issue. Objective: The aim of this study was to describe the association between diabetes mellitus and heart failure. Methods: In this study 150 (78 males and 72 females) participants of Libyan attended Emergency department and Intensive Care in Tajoura National Heart Center and Tripoli Medical Center, were selected during the period from 4/2013...
متن کاملcardiac rehabilitation in patients with diabetes mellitus
abstract introduction: prevalence of cardiovascular diseases (cvd) is 19.4% in iran and diabetes mellitus is an important cvd risk factor in this country. non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type ii dm) is associated with increased morbidity and mortality due to atherosclerosis. with cardiac rehabilitation (cr) we can modify cvd risk factors such as type ii dm and play an important role in...
متن کاملAssociation between serum ferritin level and diastolic cardiac function in patients with major β-thalassemia
Abstract Background Prevention of myocardial siderosis is a key step to reduce rate of mortality in thalassemic patients. Our objective was to study association between echocardiography parameters and serum ferritin level in patients with major thalassemia. Materials and Methods Sixty-six patients with major thalassemia were studied in Amir Kabir hospital, Arak, Iran. Serum ferritin levels ...
متن کاملThe Aassociation between Pre-Cardiac Arrest Comorbidity and Unsuccessful Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Patients with Cardiac Arrest
Background and Objective: Patients suffering from cardiac arrest (CA) have poor prognosis and survival. The association of pre-arrest comorbidity with unsuccessful resuscitation in patients with CA is far from clear. The aim of the present study was to investigate the association between pre-existing comorbidity and unsuccessful resuscitation following CA in Iranian patients. Materials and Met...
